Škoda Digital, part of the Škoda Group, is a specialized center for developing digital solutions for rail vehicles. Since 2017, we have implemented a number of projects for Škoda Digital focused on developing and modernizing software systems for rail vehicles. The collaboration included both desktop application development and embedded software and visualization systems.

Škoda Digital approached us in April 2017 with the need to develop a desktop application for preparing configurations for visualization applications for rail vehicles. After successfully completing the project and satisfying the client, we began to take on additional contracts, this time in the area of embedded software such as developing modules, libraries and visualization applications for rail vehicles.

Since 2017, we have delivered the following for Škoda Digital:

Desktop applications for configuration preparation: We created a desktop application that facilitates the configuration of visualization systems. The application was developed quickly and efficiently, which led to long-term collaboration with the client.

We created a desktop application that facilitates the configuration of a safety module for rail vehicles.

Embedded software for rail vehicles: HYPEX FDI Driver: This module processes pulse signals from speed sensors and balises connected via a digital input module.

DiagBase modules: These modules are integrated into the Train Control & Management System, where they receive data from the vehicle and create a database for easy use by the Train Number Indication system.

Modules for the PREMIS system: We implemented modules for MQTT protocol communication, event database and interface, enabling efficient data transfer and management.

Linux operating system optimization: We optimized system startup, modified the bootloader and initramfs, deactivated unused services and modified the window manager, which significantly improved system performance and stability.

IBIS-IP library: We implemented a library for the IBIS-IP protocol, enabling efficient communication between various public transport vehicle systems.

APC and Ibis2Tcn software modules: We developed modules for transferring passenger count information and for a gateway between IBIS-IP and TRDP protocols, improving integration and data exchange between systems.

Visualization applications: We performed minor modifications and maintenance of existing applications for HMI displays according to current requirements, ensuring higher stability of these systems.
